This policy explains what information HoodRaps collects when you visit our website, fill out our forms or work with us, and what we do with it. HoodRaps is operated by HoodRaps LLC ("HoodRaps", "we", "us"), based in California. If anything here is unclear, email support@hoodraps.com.
1. What we collect
What you give us
- Contact details: your name, artist name, email address and phone or WhatsApp number.
- Your profiles and music: social media handles, links to your music, your release details, your goals and anything else you answer in our onboarding questionnaire or contact form.
- Campaign materials: songs, artwork, photos, videos, lyrics, your bio and links to folders you share with us.
- Messages: what you send us on WhatsApp, Instagram or email.
- Payment details: when you pay us, the payment provider handles your card or account details. We receive a confirmation and basic transaction information, not your full card number.
What's collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and the services that load on our pages (such as Google Fonts and, where shown, Spotify players) may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies on this site, and we don't let other companies track what you do across websites through it. Because of that, the site works the same whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal. If any of this changes, we'll update this policy.
Our onboarding questionnaire saves your progress in your own browser so you don't lose your answers. Nothing reaches us until you press send, and the saved copy is cleared once your answers are sent.
2. How we use it
- To reply to you and set up the services you ask for.
- To run your campaign: planning your release, distributing your music, pitching it to playlists, blogs, press and creators, setting up interviews, and making and posting clips.
- To keep you updated on WhatsApp, email or Instagram.
- To take payments and keep our business records.
- To improve our services.
- To show our work, such as results, clips or testimonials, but only with your permission.
- To follow the law and protect our rights and the rights of others.
3. Who we share it with
- Campaign partners: playlist curators, blogs and journalists, interviewers, creators and influencers, and the fan pages that post your clips. We share your music and what's needed to pitch it, such as your artist name, links, bio and photos. We don't hand out your private contact details unless you ask us to.
- Service providers: companies that help us run HoodRaps, such as our website host, our form service (FormSubmit, which delivers questionnaire answers to our inbox), email, WhatsApp, payment processors and cloud storage. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
- Distributors and platforms: when we distribute your music for you, your release details go to the distributor and the streaming platforms.
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone's rights or safety.
- If the business changes hands, information may transfer as part of that deal, under this policy.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your information while we work together and for a reasonable time after, for our records and anything the law requires (such as tax records). After that we delete it or remove anything that identifies you. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see below).
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we have about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. Email support@hoodraps.com and we'll respond within the time the law requires. We may need to confirm it's you first.
- California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights.
- If you're in the UK or the EU, we use your information to deliver the services you asked for, with your consent, or for our legitimate interests in running and improving HoodRaps. You can object, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data protection authority.
6. Children
Our services are for artists who are 18 or older, or younger artists working with us with a parent or guardian's consent. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website, app or email is completely secure. Please only share links to your music and files with the access settings you're comfortable with.
8. Other sites and players
Our site links to and may show content from services like Spotify, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and WhatsApp. When you use them, their own privacy policies apply.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new "last updated" date. If a change is significant, we'll let current clients know.
